Bordeaux Futures
Why buy Bordeaux Futures?? Well, there are only two reasons why an aficionado should participate in the "Futures Game". The first is to ensure selection. Many Chateaux's wines are in short supply, and a consumer may wish to continue a vertical collection or simply be assured of a supply of his or her "favorite" producer's wines. But the most prudent reason for buying Bordeaux Futures is simply to save money.
Kreston's has been selling futures on these wines since the 1980 vintage went on sale, twenty vintages ago. In all of that time, only once has the price of the wines at delivery been lower than the futures offering prices. Sometimes it has been a modest 10%, but we've also seen wines double and triple in price before their release. But, as in all transactions of this nature, Caveat Emptor is the guiding rule. Be well informed about the wines that may interest you and do business with a reliable retailer.

Kreston's policy of requiring only 50%
of your purchase price at the time of your order, with the balance due at
delivery, remains unusual in an industry that routinely requires a full 100% of
your monies up front to participate in the futures purchase of these wines.
Kreston's also permits your buying of just a single bottle if that should be
your desire. Most require full case purchases to enter this domain.
