Malheur Dark Brut

Malheur Dark Brut 750ML
Sku: 511692

Malheur Dark Brut “a la methode originaleR21; is a dark brown beer with a brown creamy head and 12% alcohol by volume. The yeast is removed from the bottle using special processes (remuage, turning, and degorgement whereby only the ambient pressure in the bottle is used to force the yeast out). Malheur Dark Brut has a complex aroma of sherry, Madeira wine, vanilla and wood, and even Haagse Hopjes (slightly coffee and caramel flavoured sweets): this coffee flavour comes from the roasted malt. The secret of the oaky dry, balanced Brut flavour is in the beer barrels: Malheur Dark Brut is matured in young American oak barrels, specially charred for this beer. The bitterness is beautifully balanced with the tannin of the wood and just a hint of the sweetness of the alcohol and a cork dry aftertaste. How should it be served? Malheur Dark Brut should be skilfully served in the characteristic Malheur goblet to enhance the tasting pleasure and provide unadulterated indulgence and a totally unique experience. The Malheur Brut goblet must be perfectly clean with no greasy residues before it is filled. The goblet should first be chilled by swirling an ice cube around in it. This brings out the best in all the Malheur characteristics. Make sure the beer is topped with a rich foamy head to stop as much of it as possible being exposed to the air, thus preventing oxidisation which would alter the beer’s flavour. It also makes the beer look even more attractive and delicious! Optimal serving temperature: between 4 and 6C Prepare for a high-pressure level and lots of foam: this is characteristic to this particular type of beer. Use a wide ice bucket in which the bottle can rest almost horizontally. Prepare at least two glasses to serve the beer immediately. Uncork the bottle in a controlled manner - there shouldn’t be a loud pop, just a gentle hiss - collect the first foam to escape the bottle in the first glass (tilt the glass) and then pour slowly and steadily into the next glasses, tilting them and topping them with a decent head. Then lay the bottle in the ice bucket until you want to serve some more. How should it be stored? If you want to store Malheur Dark Brut it is best to do so in an upright position in a cool dark place with a constant temperature. The aromas and flavour will continue to evolve: a special reason to follow its evolution and to continue tasting it. One more reason to stock up your cellar. Because you never know when the next reason to celebrate will come along and you’ll want to open another bottle of Malheur Dark Brut.
